K Laxma Goud

K Laxma Goud

K. Laxma Goud, born in Nizampur, Andhra Pradesh in 1940, is a versatile Indian artist known for his work across drawing, printmaking, painting, and sculpture. He studied at the Government School of Art and Architecture, Hyderabad, and later specialised in mural painting and printmaking at the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University of Baroda.

Goud’s art reflects rural Indian life, childhood memories, and human relationships. His figures are expressive, energetic, and often explore themes of identity, sensuality, and the raw aspects of existence. His rustic landscapes and powerful portrayals of men and women capture the vitality of rural culture. Over time, his figures evolved into more subtle and introspective forms.

Working across mediums including watercolour, gouache, glass painting, bronze, and terracotta, Goud continuously experiments with artistic expression. His miniature landscapes and intimate compositions create a direct connection between the viewer and his richly detailed visual world.
