Paresh Maity, born in Tamluk, West Bengal in 1965, is a prominent Indian artist known for his vibrant paintings and diverse artistic practice. He studied Fine Arts at the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata, and completed his Master of Fine Arts from the College of Art, Delhi.

Over a career spanning decades, Maity has held numerous solo exhibitions and explored various subjects, beginning with atmospheric landscapes and watercolours before moving towards human forms and expressive compositions. His recent works are recognised for bold colours, graphic qualities, and dynamic cropping.

Paresh Maity’s art reflects a continuous exploration of nature, people, and emotions through multiple mediums. His works are part of important collections, including the British Museum and National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. He was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2014 for his contribution to Indian art.
