Rajeshree Thakker is a Goa-based artist whose practice spans over twenty-five years, exploring the evolving relationship between abstraction and figuration. Her work reflects a fusion of sensuality, conceptual thought, and spiritual inquiry, developed through experimentation with various forms and surfaces beyond traditional canvas.

In recent years, Thakker has created shrine-like artworks using wood, where multiple doors open and close to reveal or conceal painted surfaces, encouraging reflection and contemplation. Her artistic vision is deeply influenced by the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo, particularly his epic poem Savitri, along with Buddhism, haiku, mythology, and world literature.

Balancing intuition with intellect, Thakker transforms spiritual and philosophical ideas into visual compositions. Her works explore the connection between the inner self and the larger world, combining symbolic imagery, design elements, and meditative experiences.
