Vasant Viraj Naik is an accomplished artist known for his versatility across printmaking, watercolour, and acrylic mediums. His works feature enchanting figures inspired by Greek mythology, while retaining a distinct Goan character shaped by his cultural roots.
Born in Goa in 1975, Naik completed his Bachelor’s degree in Painting from Goa College of Art and later earned his Master’s degree from the University of Hyderabad. His artistic practice combines mythological imagery with contemporary expression, creating compositions that balance fantasy, symbolism, and regional identity.
Naik has exhibited widely through solo and group exhibitions in India and abroad. His achievements include the Young Artists Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture in 2001 and the Silver Medal at the Anvantika Awards in 2005.
He lives and works in Goa.
