Noah's Ark

Sakti Burman, born in 1935 in Kolkata, is a contemporary Indian artist known for his distinctive fusion of mythology, fantasy, and dreamlike imagery. Although he has lived in France for over five decades, Burman has maintained a strong connection with Indian culture and regularly exhibits his work in India and internationally.

A painter and lithographer, Burman creates richly coloured compositions filled with mythical figures, symbolic characters, and imagined worlds. His works often blend memories of Indian traditions with influences from European art, creating a unique visual language that feels both familiar and fantastical.
