Dhavat Singh Uikey is a contemporary Gond artist who combines traditional storytelling with a modern artistic approach. Originally trained as an engineer, he developed a deep connection with folk narratives through the stories he heard while growing up. His paintings reinterpret tales of forests, animals, and tribal life, transforming oral traditions into vibrant visual expressions.

Uikey draws inspiration from the myths and folklore of the Baiga community, especially stories that describe the relationship between humans, animals, and nature.
